Manhole Covers and Frames

Cast Iron manhole covers in certain areas are being stolen at an alarming rate. This is causing a lot of worry among the public authorities concerned, because not only does the open manhole become a menace to life and limb, but it is costing a fortune to replace them. This can be overcome to some extent by the use of the locking bars but these add greatly to an already expensive product and are clumsy to maintain because the keys are always getting lost or the lock jammed. The precast concrete cover on the other hand, is not as expensive and it has little to no resale value and is therefore proving to be a more economic solution to this particular problem.

Two types of concrete cover and frame are manufactured. These are:

TYPE A

TYPE B
